I came to Bali with chronic gut issues — bloating after every meal, food sensitivities that kept growing, brain fog. Functional medicine testing showed elevated zonulin (leaky gut marker).
I'd used BPC-157 for injuries before but the gut healing research is what got me excited. Here's what I did:
Protocol: 250mcg subQ (belly) 2x/day for 8 weeks
Week 1-2: Not much change. Some gurgling. Week 3-4: Bloating started to reduce. Could eat foods that previously triggered me (eggs, dairy). Week 5-6: Major improvement. Eating normally without planning around food sensitivities. Week 7-8: Retested zonulin — dropped from 89 to 52 (normal is <47 but huge improvement).
I also added glutamine and bone broth, so it wasn't BPC alone. But the timing of improvement aligns perfectly with the peptide.
For anyone dealing with gut issues: try oral BPC-157 (hold the reconstituted solution under your tongue) OR subQ in the belly. Both work for gut targets.

This is a fantastic write-up Sophie. The zonulin improvement is really meaningful data. I've had similar results with clients — BPC-157 for gut healing is one of the best-evidenced applications. The sublingual route is also effective and some clients prefer it over injection for gut-specific issues.
Great protocol. For anyone considering this: the combination of BPC-157 + VIP peptide is even more powerful for leaky gut. BPC repairs the gut lining while VIP modulates the gut-brain axis and reduces inflammation. Worth considering if BPC alone isn't enough.
Thank you for sharing this. I've been dealing with similar gut issues since moving to Bali. Just ordered BPC-157 based on your experience. Quick question — did you take it with or without food?
From an Ayurvedic perspective, this aligns with what we call 'agni' restoration — rebuilding digestive fire. It's encouraging to see modern peptide science arriving at similar conclusions to ancient medicine. I may start incorporating this for clients where traditional approaches aren't sufficient.
Thanks for sharing your journey, Sophie! It's inspiring to see how BPC-157 played a role in your gut healing protocol, and those improvements in your zonulin levels are a strong testament to its potential.
Combining BPC-157 with glutamine and bone broth sounds like a well-rounded strategy for supporting gut health. Many people find that incorporating BPC-157 sublingually or via injection can effectively target the gut, and your results are a great example of this.
To answer Ana's question, BPC-157 can be taken either with or without food, though some people prefer it on an empty stomach for consistency in absorption. Just be sure to stay in tune with your body's responses and consult a healthcare professional if you have any concerns.
Anyone else have experiences or tips to share about using BPC-157 for gut health?
