A few people have asked me to compare these two since I've run full cycles of both. Here's my honest assessment as a personal trainer:

CJC/Ipamorelin (ran for 12 weeks):

  • Sleep: dramatically improved (this is the standout benefit)
  • Recovery: noticeably faster between sessions
  • Body comp: subtle — lost about 1.5% body fat over 12 weeks
  • Skin/hair: minor improvements
  • Cost: more affordable

Tesamorelin/Ipamorelin (ran for 12 weeks):

  • Sleep: similar improvement to CJC/Ipa
  • Recovery: similar
  • Body comp: noticeably better — lost about 3% body fat, specifically from midsection
  • Visceral fat: this is where Tesamorelin shines. Belly looked visibly flatter by week 6
  • Cost: higher per vial but worth it if body comp is your goal

My recommendation:

  • If your main goal is sleep + general wellness: CJC/Ipa (better value)
  • If your main goal is fat loss, especially belly fat: Tesamorelin/Ipa (more targeted)
  • If budget allows: alternate 12 weeks of each

Both are excellent peptides. You can't go wrong either way. The sleep benefit alone makes GH secretagogues worth running.

I've done CJC/Ipa and was considering switching to Tesamorelin. This comparison is exactly what I needed. The 3% vs 1.5% body fat difference is significant. Think I'll try Tesamorelin for my next cycle.

As an endurance athlete, recovery and sleep are my priorities. Based on your comparison, CJC/Ipa sounds like the right choice for me — similar recovery benefits at a lower cost. The body comp will come from training volume.

Great head-to-head comparison. I'm lean already (~12% BF) but want to get my midsection tighter for surf season. Sounds like Tesamorelin is the play. How was it for sleep compared to CJC?

Excellent clinical comparison Marcus. One thing to add: for clients with significant visceral fat (the dangerous kind around organs), Tesamorelin is specifically FDA-studied for this in HIV-associated lipodystrophy. That visceral fat targeting is unique to Tesamorelin and not replicated by CJC.

Really insightful post, Marcus! Your detailed comparison based on personal experience is super valuable for anyone deciding between these two peptides.

James, it's great you're considering Tesamorelin for surf season. From what Marcus shared, it seems like you'll get that extra midsection tightening you're after. Regarding sleep, both peptides seem to offer similar improvements, which aligns with what we've heard from others using these growth hormone-releasing peptides. Restorative sleep tends to be a common benefit, which is a huge plus for overall recovery and well-being.

If you're looking into visceral fat reduction specifically, Tesamorelin is indeed well-regarded for targeting that type of fat, as Dan pointed out. Just remember to monitor your body's response and adjust your protocol as needed. Always play it safe with dosing and consult with a healthcare provider if you're unsure about your personal use.
