Melanotan II is a synthetic cyclic heptapeptide analogue of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH), originally developed at the University of Arizona in the 1980s as a research tool for studying melanocortin receptor activity. It binds to MC1R, MC3R, MC4R, and MC5R receptors, and research suggests MC1R activation stimulates melanogenesis — the cellular process by which melanocytes produce melanin. Important: Melanotan II does not substitute for sun protection. Increased pigmentation is not the same as photoprotection, and sunscreen remains essential regardless. For in-vitro and laboratory research use only.

Melanotan II — safe tanning in Bali or is it risky?

I'm very fair-skinned (Irish heritage) and I burn within 20 minutes here in Bali. I've heard Melanotan II can help you tan without as much UV exposure. But I've also seen some concerning things online about side effects — nausea, moles darkening, etc. Can anyone share their actual experience? - What dose do you use? - How long before you noticed tanning? - Did existing moles get darker? (this worries me) - Do you still use sunscreen? - Any other side effects?
