First time with peptides? Start here — my recommended beginner guide
I get this question almost daily so I'm putting together my standard advice for peptide beginners. Step 1: Pick ONE goal Don't try to solve everything at once. Pick your primary goal: - Injury recovery → BPC-157 or Wolverine Stack - Fat loss → Tirzepatide or AOD9604 - Sleep/recovery → CJC/Ipamorelin - Skin/anti-aging → GHK-Cu - Immune support → Thymosin Alpha-1 - Focus/anxiety → Semax or Selank Step 2: Learn to reconstitute It's easier than it sounds. BAC water + insulin syringe. There are great videos out there. Mito Labs also has instructions with every order. Step 3: Start with one peptide Don't stack 5 things on day one. Run one peptide for 4-6 weeks, assess results, then consider adding a second. Step 4: Be consistent Peptides aren't magic pills. They work through consistent dosing over weeks. Skipping days reduces effectiveness. Step 5: Track your results Take photos. Write notes. Track sleep with a wearable if you have one. You'll forget how you felt at the start if you don't document. Common mistakes: - Overdosing (start low, increase gradually) - Not refrigerating reconstituted peptides - Eating within 2 hours of GH peptides (blunts the response) - Giving up after 1 week (most peptides need 2-4 weeks to show results) - Buying too many peptides at once and not knowing what's working Feel free to ask questions below. Hey everyone, welcome to the Mito Labs community! A few things that come up a lot: How do I store my peptides? Keep them refrigerated (2-8°C) once reconstituted. Lyophilized (powder) vials are stable at room temperature but fridge is still best. How do I reconstitute? Use bacteriostatic water (BAC water). Inject slowly down the side of the vial, don't spray directly onto the powder. Gently swirl — never shake. Where do I inject? Subcutaneous (under the skin) — belly fat or thigh are the most common spots. Rotate injection sites. How long until I see results? Depends on the peptide. BPC-157 for injuries, many people notice improvement within 1-2 weeks. GH peptides like CJC/Ipamorelin, give it 4-6 weeks for body composition changes. Anyone using Semax or Selank for focus/productivity?
I work remotely from Bali and my productivity has been all over the place. Looked into nootropic peptides and Semax and Selank keep coming up. From what I've read: - Semax = more stimulating, good for focus and cognitive performance - Selank = more calming, good for anxiety + focus without the stimulation I don't want anything that feels like a stimulant (I already drink too much coffee). Leaning towards Selank but curious what the community's experience has been. Do you dose these daily or as-needed?
Semax for coding productivity — 30 day experiment
As a software developer I need sustained focus for hours. I tracked my output for 30 days on Semax vs 30 days without. Protocol: 300mcg intranasal each morning Metrics I tracked: - Git commits per day - Deep work blocks (90+ min uninterrupted) - Self-rated focus (1-10) - Side effects Results: - Commits/day: 4.2 → 6.1 (45% increase) - Deep work blocks: 1.8 → 2.9 per day - Focus rating: 5.8 → 7.9 average - Side effects: slight stimulation first 3 days, then leveled off It's not like Adderall — there's no jittery energy or crash. It's more like your normal focus state but... better. Clearer. Distractions don't pull you away as easily. I cycle 5 days on, 2 off (weekends). No tolerance buildup in 30 days. This is now a staple in my stack. Note: Semax is more stimulating than Selank. If you get anxiety from stimulants, Selank might be the better choice.
